Innovative Approach to Kitchen Waste and Biodegradable Waste Processing – Sanitation Container
In today’s world, environmental sustainability is becoming increasingly important, which is why new technologies and approaches to waste processing are being developed. One such innovative solution is the sanitation container we have designed. It is a revolutionary step in processing biodegradable municipal and kitchen waste, giving waste a second life as high-quality compost.
Revolutionary Design of the Sanitation Container
Our sanitation container is distinguished by several advanced features that make it exceptional. Its body consists of a sealed abrol container with a capacity of 20 m³, providing ample space for processing large amounts of waste. The container is equipped with a fan and heating coil, which allow for ventilation and heating of the contents. All of this can be controlled manually or automatically through a programmable logic controller (PLC), ensuring precise control over the entire process.

Temperature and humidity control
To ensure effective hygienization, the container is equipped with two temperature sensors that are inserted into the waste pile, as well as a humidity sensor that measures the moisture inside the container. Another temperature sensor is placed externally on the control panel to monitor the surrounding external temperature. All of this data is displayed on a 5-inch PLC screen, where it is possible to monitor current temperatures, adjust the fan, heating coil, and other parameters.

Remote Access and Control
The biggest innovation is the ability to connect the PLC to the internet via Ethernet or SIM card. This allows remote access to the PLC and control of the container, opening up opportunities for additional time and cost savings. The operator can remotely monitor the status, adjust settings, and ensure optimal conditions for the hygienization process.

Accelerated process and high-quality compost
After the modification, we achieved a significant reduction in the time required for hygienization, from the original 4 days to just 1 day. This means that the hygienization process is considered complete once the maintained temperature reaches 70 degrees for at least one hour.
An important change that contributed to this reduction was the modification of the container’s roof. Originally, it consisted of two manually detachable parts, which caused unnecessary heat loss. We eliminated this inefficiency by replacing the roof with a fully sealable structure, controlled via a jack placed on the side of the container. This change not only ensured more efficient hygienization but also improved the overall insulation of the container, minimizing heat loss and enhancing the overall process efficiency.
After such a process, a sample is taken, and if everything is in order, a high-quality compost can be produced, which is highly sought after and contributes to environmental sustainability.

The hygienization container is energy-efficient.
Our hygienization container is connected to 230V, ensuring energy-efficient operation. This approach minimizes the environmental impact of the process and guarantees its sustainability.
The overall goal of our project is to improve and accelerate the waste hygienization process, which helps us achieve environmental sustainability and produce high-quality compost. Our hygienization container is an example of how innovations can transform the way we care for our planet while also delivering practical benefits.
